Police have renewed an appeal for information following the murder of a 59-year-old man whose body was found in his home in the Leith.

Alexander Duncan, known as Addy, was last seen outside the Marksman Bar on 16 April. His body was found at 3 Primrose Street three days later.

There have been a number of potential sightings of Mr Duncan in the common stairwell on Friday 17 and Saturday 18.

He was also possibly in the Kirkgate pub after midday on Saturday 18.

Police said the motive for the attack on Mr Duncan remained unclear and that a number of lines of inquiry were being pursued.

Det Insp Martin MacLean, of Police Scotland's major investigation team, said: "I would like to thank members of the local community for their help so far and for their patience as we carried out door-to-door inquiries and the initial forensic examination of the scene at Primrose Street.

"However we would urge anyone who saw Mr Duncan, or who has information regarding his lifestyle, habits or movements to please get in touch."

He also asked anyone who saw anything or anyone suspicious around 3 Primrose Street between Thursday 16 and Sunday 19 April to contact police or Crimestoppers.
