Man found dead in Haddington named by police

Police in East Lothian have confirmed the name of the man found dead near to a sewage works in Haddington on Monday 18 April.

He was Andrew Gillies (known as Andy), who lived locally and was last seen in the Riverside area of the East Lothian town on Saturday 16 April.

Officers said inquiries were continuing but there appeared to be no suspicious circumstances.

A member of the public had found the 33-year-old's body and alerted police.

At the time, a Police Scotland spokeswoman described the death as "unexplained" and the area was cordoned off whilst forensic officers investigated.
