Police 'safely resolve' incident in Southhouse in Edinburgh

Police in Edinburgh say they have "safely resolved" an incident in the Southhouse area of the capital.

Police Scotland confirmed that officers were called to the scene in Southhouse Square at about 18:20 on Tuesday.

There were reports of a large police presence in the area before the incident was resolved at about 22:20.

A 54-year-old man is believed to be receiving treatment.
