Man punched in face in unprovoked attack in Edinburgh pub
An investigation has been launched after a man was punched in the face in an unprovoked attack in an Edinburgh pub.
The man in his 60s was in Gladstones pub on Mill Lane when he was seriously assaulted at about 12:40 by an unknown man.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
The attacker was white, in his 40s, 6ft 1ins, with a Liverpool accent, wearing dark clothing and white trainers.
Insp Kevin Rafferty, of Police Scotland, said: "We are pursuing a number of positive lines on inquiry in relation to this matter however I want to hear from anyone who witnessed this attack to come forward immediately.
"The male victim was taken to the ERI for medical attention but I'm pleased to say he has been discharged and is now recovering at home.
"Violent behaviour is completely unacceptable and we are working hard to ensure this suspect is swiftly traced and arrested."
