Cows rescued from huge sinkhole in Midlothian

Several cows have been rescued from a 45ft (15m) deep sinkhole in Midlothian.

It is thought a mineshaft collapsed at a farm off Greenhall Road in Gorebridge just after 10:30.

A dozen firefighters helped in the rescue which involved digging a huge trench using JCB tractors to get the cows out of the hole.
