Brad Williamson named as fatal motorbike crash boy

A 14-year-old boy who died after the motorbike he was driving was in collision with a car in Edinburgh has been named as Brad Williamson.

The accident, involving a white Vertigo motorbike and a black Toyota Aygo, happened on Silverknowes Road at about 16:00 on Friday.

Brad and his 14-year-old passenger were taken to the Sick Kids Hospital where he died the following morning.

The other boy is being treated for serious injuries.

The driver of the car was not injured.

Police have appealed for witnesses and are particularly keen to trace a white Mercedes limousine-style car which was travelling north on Silverknowes Road at the time. They believe the driver could have information to help the inquiry.

PC Declan Fitzpatrick, of Police Scotland, said: "Our inquiries continue into this collision and our thoughts remain with Brad's family and friends at what is an incredibly difficult time for them.

"We'd ask any witnesses who have not yet come forward to get in touch."
