Two jewellery thefts in Midlothian linked by police

Two Midlothian housebreakings where jewellery worth a four figure sum was stolen are being linked by police.

The first break-in happened between Friday and Wednesday at a house in Eskview Grove, Eskbank in Dalkeith.

The second was on Monday between 17:00 and 23:00 at a house in Kerr Avenue.

PC Kris Burns, of Police Scotland, said: "The occupiers from both properties were left deeply upset at the theft of their possessions. We are conducting various local inquiries."

He added: "Anyone who remembers seeing anything suspicious around Kerr Avenue or Eskview Grove, or who has any other information that can assist with this inquiry is asked to contact police immediately."
