A new team is to run the Christmas lights show at the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh.

The event has been organised by Unique Events for the past three years but will now be run by Raymond Gubbay Ltd.

Officials at the garden have promised a "special new experience" for the event at the end of the year.

Raymond Gubbay Ltd produces seasonal light trail events for Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, Blenheim Palace and Berlin Botanic Gardens.

Heather Jackson, director of enterprise at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, said: "After three fantastic years working with Unique Events to build the popular Botanic Lights event, we are delighted to announce the start of an exciting new partnership with Raymond Gubbay Ltd.

"This relationship presents the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh with the opportunity to grow the concept of illuminations into a memorable festive experience for local people and visitors to enjoy during the Christmas period in Edinburgh 2017.

"We look forward to providing updates as our plans develop for this special new experience."
