Wet Wet Wet

Eighties chart-toppers Wet Wet Wet are to play Edinburgh Castle once again after 25 years.

They are to play on Saturday 15 July and will be celebrating 30 years of their debut album Popped In Souled Out.

They had three UK No1s - With A Little Help From My Friends, Goodnight Girl, and Love Is All Around.

Lead singer Marti Pellow said: "It was a major career highlight when we took to the stage at Edinburgh Castle some 25 years ago."

He added: "We are honoured to be asked back and it is sure to be a special moment when we take to the stage again."

Mark Mackie, director of Castle Concerts, said: "It's only taken us 25 years to get the band to come back and play this truly unique venue.

"Over the years, Edinburgh Castle has played host to many international stars such as Rod Stewart, Blondie, Elton John, The Proclaimers, Leonard Cohen, Stereophonics, Sir Tom Jones and Pink.

"Wet Wet Wet join Emeli Sande, Olly Murs and Deacon Blue at this world-renowned venue this year."

Tickets go on sale on Friday at 09:00.
