More than 11,000 visitors flocked to The Ingliston Revival Festival on the outskirts of Edinburgh as it hosted the first competitive motoring event on the track since 1994.

The event, on Saturday and Sunday, saw a celebration of the halcyon days of Ingliston racing circuit.

It was also a chance for 68 classic cars to compete on the track.

There was an array of classic vehicles on display throughout the weekend.

A 1964 Iso Bizzarinni, a 1966 Ecurie Ecosse IMP and a 1952 Jaguar C-type were just some of the classics that took to the infamous hairpin in a bid to win in the sprint competitions.

A vintage fun fair and cinema, along with a retail village and live music from the 1960s, also added to the revival atmosphere.

Stunt driver Paul Swift wowed crowds with his Italian Job-inspired stunt show, while commentators Paul O'Neill and Joe Tanner kept crowds updated with the latest track action.

Event director Sandy Bloomer said: "What a fantastic weekend. The crowds were great and the atmosphere was exactly what we were aiming for. I am very proud of the development of the Ingliston Revival project and the entire team has worked tirelessly for months to deliver our vision for the future of Ingliston.

"Feedback is essential to grow the event and what we have heard already from our valued customers reassures us that the Ingliston Revival is heading in the right direction.

"I am delighted to announce that The Revival Festival will become an annual event and we look forward to welcoming everyone to a bigger and better Revival next year."
