Armed robbers get away with cash

Armed robbers got away with thousands of pounds of cash after a raid on a shop in the south of Glasgow, police have said.

Two men threatened staff with a "bladed weapon" during the incident at the Scotmid store on Crookston Road, at about 2150 BST on Friday.

Nobody was injured in the robbery but two male and two female shop workers were left "extremely distressed".

Two 12 year-old boys were also in the shop at the time of the incident.

Both suspects are believed to be about 45 to 47.

The first was described as of medium build, with short, dirty, fair hair and bad skin.

The second was said to be of slim build and was wearing sunglasses and a baseball cap at the time of the incident.

Police appealed for anyone who may have seen the robbers, or who may have seen the black Vauxhall Zafira in which they are thought to have got away, to contact them.
