Bus knocks down 15-year-old boy in Motherwell

A 15-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital after being knocked down by a single decker bus in Motherwell.

Strathclyde Police said the teenager was walking along a footpath at Shields Road, near Kirkhill Road on Monday at 1915 BST when the accident happened.

The driver of the bus and the passengers on board were not hurt.

The boy was taken to Wishaw Hospital but later transferred to the Golden Jubilee Hospital in Clydebank.
