Pair in court over drill attack

Two men have appeared in court after a man was attacked with a power drill in North Lanarkshire last month.

James Hanlon, 26, was forced off the road when driving in Stepps on 22 August and assaulted.

Robert Kirkwood, 24, and Charles McCormack, 28, were charged with assault to severe injury at Airdrie Sheriff Court.

The men, from Glasgow, made no plea or declaration and were remanded in custody.

Craig Devlin, also from Glasgow, was previously arrested over the incident.

The 19-year-old was charged with assault to severe injury when he appeared in court on 6 September.
