Christmas cash drugs mother jailed for three years

A mother who helped drug dealers so she could afford to go Christmas shopping has been jailed for three years.

Sandra Bonner, 36, was caught with more than a kilo of cocaine, worth an estimated £44,000, at her home in East Kilbride in November last year.

The High Court in Edinburgh heard how she agreed to provide a "safe house" for the drugs in order to get money to buy Christmas presents.

Bonnar pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of drugs.

Jailing her, judge Lord Tyre said he appreciated her financial and other difficulties.

"There is, however, no escaping the fact that you were willing to play a key role in the supply of destructive drugs, for money," he added.
