Divorced car romp couple avoid sex register

A divorced couple who were caught having sex in a car have have been told they will not be placed on the sex offenders' register.

Pierre Theodas, 60, and ex-wife Linda, 59, admitted the offence while parked in a lane outside Kirklandside Hospital, Kilmarnock, in April.

Kilmarnock Sheriff Court heard how they drove there after meeting to discuss their son over a few drinks.

Sheriff Seith Ireland fined the pair £160 each for the offence.

Mr Theodas was fined a further £320 and given a one-year driving ban after he was found to be over the legal alcohol limit.

Naked couple

The court heard how the couple, who married in 1973 and divorced in 1987, had met to discuss personal issues involving one of their sons.

After having a few drinks they drove to a lane outside Kirklandside Hospital, where they had sex.

Police were later called to the scene and found Mr Theodas sitting in the driver's seat and his ex-wife in the rear of the car, stripped naked.

The couple were ordered to get dressed and a roadside breath test showed Mr Theodas to be over the drink drive limit.

Mr Theodas, from Auchinleck, and Linda Theodas, from Kilmarnock, both East Ayrshire, admitted engaging in sexual activity on a public road in clear view of the public, and breach of the peace.

Mr Theodas also admitted being drunk in charge of a car.
