Police name woman pensioner who died in A71 crash

Police have named a 78-year-old woman who died after a crash on the A71 in South Lanarkshire on Monday.

Isobel MacDonald's Vauxhall Corsa collided with a Mercedes on Darvel Road, near Strathaven, at 0810 GMT.

The Mercedes then collided with a Volkswagen Crafter van. The pensioner died at the scene.

The 62-year-old male driver of the Mercedes was treated for minor injuries. The 29-year-old male van driver was uninjured.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash to come forward.
