Police hunt couple who robbed 92-year-old man

Police are hunting a man and woman who robbed a 92-year-old man in his own home.

The couple also broke into another home and attacked a 59-year-old man in his bedroom during an attempted robbery.

Both break-ins happened at Burnbank Terrace in the St George's Cross area of Glasgow.

Police said the elderly man was badly shaken after the pair forced their way into his home and stole property. The second victim suffered a head injury.

It is thought the couple forced their way through the first victim's front door and detectives believe the two incidents, which happened at 1630 GMT on Friday, are linked.

Det Con Thomas Carey urged any witnesses to get in touch.

He said: "The two people responsible for these attacks are despicable.

"They have preyed upon two vulnerable members of the community, leaving one man with a head injury and both extremely traumatised by the events.

"It's imperative we trace the people responsible.

"I would ask local people to be extra careful."

Additional patrols will be stepped up in the area in an effort to reassure members of the local community.
