Appeal over stabbing outside flats in Cambuslang

Police have appealed for witnesses after a man was stabbed outside flats in South Lanarkshire.

The 20-year-old was involved in a fight with another man in Helmsdale Court, Halfway, Cambuslang, at about 1930 GMT on Friday.

He was taken to Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride where his condition has been described as stable.

The suspect was described as white, aged between 16 and 20, with short, dark hair.

He was wearing a dark-coloured track suit.

Det Con Erin Renwick, of Strathclyde Police, said: "This attack took place right outside a block of residential flats, I feel sure that someone must have either seen or heard something related to this incident.

"A young man has been left seriously injured by this attack, resulting in a dramatic impact for him and his family.

"I would urge anyone who may have information or who may know anything about the suspect to get in touch with us as a matter of urgency."
