Man in court on Ayrshire gun threat charge

A 39-year-old man has been charged with threatening to use a gun in an Ayrshire town.

The man is alleged to have called Strathclyde Police headquarters saying he had a firearm and intended to shoot members of the public and police officers.

The 39-year-old denied making the call from his former home in Saltcoats in October.

He was freed on bail at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court for trial next month.
