Man jailed for imitation gun raid in Hamilton
A man who fired an imitation pistol during a robbery in South Lanarkshire has been jailed for three years.
John Morrison, 35, from Hamilton, was convicted of raiding the Boots branch, in the town's Portland Place, in November 2009.
The High Court in Edinburgh heard how he fired a pellet, which struck a staff member on the hand, before escaping with a sum of money.
Morrison was ordered to be kept under supervision for a year after release.
He was found guilty of assaulting and robbing two staff members at the store and of breaching the Firearms Act by having a loaded weapon with intent to commit an offence.
