Ayrshire tree crash driver dies in hospital

A 22-year-old driver who was seriously injured with two other men in a crash in Auchinleck, East Ayrshire, has died.

John Drury, from Cumnock, was driving his car on Barony Road at 0250 GMT on Sunday when the vehicle hit a tree.

He died from his injuries on Monday. His 24-year-old front-seat passenger is being treated for critical injuries in Glasgow's Southern General Hospital.

A 36-year-old passenger is in a serious condition in hospital in Kilmarnock. Police have appealed for witnesses.
