Nine people in court over Ayrshire match trouble

Nine people have appeared in court in connection with disorder at a junior football match in Ayrshire.

Andrew Drummond, 23, and Stephanie Roulston, 20, both from Ayrshire, are accused of being threatening and abusive in public.

Mr Drummond is also accused of carrying an offensive weapon. The pair were remanded into custody.

They were among a group of people arrested following the local derby game in Cumnock on 12 February.

The match, between Cumnock Juniors and Auchinleck Talbot, had to be stopped due to the trouble but later ended with a 3-0 victory for Auchinleck.

Also appearing at Ayrshire Sheriff Court were Donna Roulston, 37, David Cuthbert, 19, Scott Shirkie, 20 - all from Ayrshire - who also face charges of being threatening and abusive.

Alan Muir, 21, from New Cumnock, and Anthony Clark, 20, David King, 20, and Alistair Ferrans, 17, all from Cumnock, were also accused of threatening behaviour.

They were all released on bail.

The case was continued for further examination.
