Driver badly injured in double crash in Paisley

A woman is in hospital with serious leg injuries after being involved in two separate crashes in Paisley.

The 45-year-old was driving her Citroen C4 along Brediland Road at about 0855 GMT when she was in a minor collision with a single decker bus.

Both drivers got out their vehicles to exchange words when a Ford Fiesta crashed into the back of the Citroen, hitting the woman.

Police said the woman's injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

She was transferred from hospital in Paisley to Glasgow's Royal Infirmary.

The driver of the Fiesta was uninjured, however she is said to be badly shaken.

The bus driver and several passengers who were on the bus at the time were also uninjured.

Officers have been at the scene of the crash throughout the day and appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
