A engineering firm based in Renfrewshire is to double its workforce following increased demand from the renewable energy sector.

Steel Engineering will take on 120 staff when it opens a new plant and builds a "mini-port" in Renfrew to transfer large structures on to ships in the Clyde.

The firm is getting a £1.8m government grant towards the £3m investment.

The company has helped build prototypes for wave energy.

It also manufactures devices for laying sub sea cables.
