Paisley 'car rage' attack treated as attempted murder

Police are treating an incident where a car was deliberately driven at a man as attempted murder.

The 47-year-old's silver Vauxhall Corsa collided with the back of a black Corsa on Foxbar Road, Paisley, Renfrewshire at about 2200 BST on Wednesday.

Following an argument, the black Corsa was driven away before it turned back and mounted the pavement towards the 47-year-old man.

He managed to jump out of the way and sustained minor injuries.

Det Con Kevin Hendry, from Strathclyde Police, said: "We are carrying out extensive inquires to establish who was driving the black Vauxhall Corsa at the time of the incident.

"I would ask anyone who was in Foxbar Road around 2200 hours last night and may have seen or even heard anything to contact me as soon as possible.

"I would also appeal to anyone who has any information about this 09 plate Vauxhall Corsa to get in touch."
