Probe into death of man on Glasgow bus

An investigation is under way into the death of a man whose body was found on a bus in Glasgow at the weekend.

The man, who has not been identified, was discovered on the First bus number 46 service, in the city's Easterhouse area on Saturday afternoon.

There are unconfirmed reports that his body may have lain on the bus for several hours before it was found.

Police said an inquiry had begun into the death but there did not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.

In a statement, bus operator First said: "We can confirm that the body of a man was discovered on board a vehicle operating as service 46 at Easterhouse on Saturday afternoon.

"This matter is now part of an ongoing police investigation and we are co-operating fully in this process as well as having launched a full internal investigation.

"Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased at this time."
