Man held in Dunoon after teenage boy critically injured

A 23-year-old man has been arrested after a teenage boy was seriously injured during a disturbance in Dunoon.

The 15-year-old boy suffered a serious head injury in the Argyll town's John Street at about 2050 BST on Wednesday.

He was taken to Dunoon General Hospital and later transferred to the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow, where he is in a critical condition.

The 23-year-old man who was arrested is expected to appear at Dunoon Sheriff Court on Friday.
