Donna Murphy guilty of brutally murdering Connor Mallon

A woman is facing a life sentence after being convicted of brutally murdering a man in the east end of Glasgow.

Donna Murphy, 49, kicked and stamped on Connor Mallon before slashing him with broken glass at a flat in the city's Shettleston area in January 2010.

She then dragged the 49-year-old's body to the bathroom and washed away blood in a bid to cover up the crime.

Murphy was remanded in custody pending sentence next month. Co-accused Rose Ann Heron was acquitted of the murder.

A jury at the High Court in Glasgow found the 59-year-old not guilty of Mr Mallon's murder.

Murphy, from the city's Springboig area, was also convicted of attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
