Two men attacked outside busy Tollcross pub in Glasgow

Two men have been subjected to unprovoked attacks outside a Glasgow pub in the early hours of the morning.

A 35-year-old man was stabbed just after midnight as he left Elders Bar on Causewayside Street, Tollcross, after being at a birthday party.

A second man, aged 39, came out of the pub and was attacked by another man.

Both victims were taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary. The 35-year-old is in a serious but stable condition and the other man was later discharged.

Busy street

The first suspect is believed to be white, about 6ft tall with a heavy build.

He was wearing a dark hooded jacket, with the hood up.

The second suspect is about 5ft 10in, with a medium build, short hair and possibly wearing a bomber-style jacket.

Det Con Bernadette Gallagher said: "There is no known reason for these violent and unprovoked attacks and it's imperative we trace the two men responsible.

"We know there were lots of people outside the bar at the time of the incidents, the bar was just closing and several people were already in the street, perhaps looking to make their way home.

"We also received calls from the public so we know people witnessed the attacks."

She urged anyone with information about the attacks to contact them.
