Mark Kane jailed over knife murder bid in High Blantyre
A man convicted of attempting to murder a teenager in South Lanarkshire has been jailed for seven years.
Mark Kane, 21, attacked 17-year-old Brian Khan with a knife in High Blantyre in October.
The High Court in Edinburgh heard how Kane tried to hit his victim on the head before wounding him to the body.
Judge Lady Stacey ordered Kane to be kept under supervision for two years after release as he had been assessed as posing a risk to the public.
Kane, from Hamilton, was also convicted of assaulting Mr Khan to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement and to the danger of his life.
