Dumfries man killed in Devil's Beef Tub crash named

Police have identified a Dumfries man who died in a crash between a car and a van on the A701 north of Moffat at the weekend.

Hotel porter Robert McCormick, 51, died in the collision between his silver Renault Megane and a red Fiat Ducato at the Devil's Beef Tub.

The accident happened at about 1100 BST on Saturday.

Three other people, all from Peebles, were taken to Dumfries Infirmary for treatment after the crash.

The road was closed for nine hours for an accident investigation.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash to contact them.
