Police hunt gang after slash attack robbery in Govan

Police are searching for four youths who attacked and robbed a dog walker in Glasgow on Friday.

The 48-year-old man was approached by the gang in Elderpark Street, Govan, at about 2145 BST.

They asked him for money then slashed him on the face several times and dislocated his shoulder.

Police described the assault as "brutal" and said the victim would be left with scars.

He was treated for his injuries at the Southern General Hospital then later released.

Pc Michael Fleck, from the robbery unit at Gorbals police office, said: "There was absolutely no reason for this attack other than sheer badness.

"The man had been out walking his dog when the youths stopped him asking for a small sum of money. He was prepared to help them out and this is what they did in return."

Anyone with information about the suspects or the robbery has been urged to come forward.
