Three men assaulted in Glasgow pub attack

Three men have been assaulted by a group of five people in a Glasgow pub after a disagreement.

The victims included a 37-year-old man who had attempted to separate those involved in the row.

He and a 49-year-old man were treated at Glasgow Royal Infirmary for head and facial injuries.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the incident, which took place in the By The Way public house in Baillieston at about 2330 BST on Friday.

Det Con Kenny Shaw of Strathclyde Police said: "This disturbance appears to have taken place over a minor disagreement, and the violence inflicted was totally unnecessary.

"The pub was fairly busy at the time of the assault. We are hopeful someone may have information on the suspects and would urge anyone to come forward with any detail they have."

The suspects, who fled from the pub after the attack, were described as white males, and one of them had a shaved head and was wearing a checked shirt.
