Arrests follow rooftop incident in Uddingston

Three people have been arrested in connection with cannabis cultivation, after raids which saw a man brought down from a rooftop in Uddingston.

Several roads were cordoned off around Main Street in the town centre at about 1210 BST.

Strathclyde Police said the man was brought down at about 1530 BST.

A 53-year-old man and two 22-year-old men were arrested after the searches in Uddingston and Bothwell. A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.

Det Ch Insp Jim Kerr said: "On Tuesday 5 July 2011, as part of an ongoing investigation, officers from the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency (SCDEA), supported by Strathclyde Police, conducted warrant searches at three addresses, two in Uddingston and one in Bothwell.

"As a result a 53-year-old man and two 22-year-old men have been arrested for the cultivation of cannabis."
