Police appeal over M74 lorry collision near Biggar

Police have appealed for witnesses after a crash involving two lorries on the M74 motorway in South Lanarkshire left a driver critically injured.

A Mercedes lorry, driven by a 36-year-old man, collided with another Mercedes lorry which was stationary on the hard shoulder at about 1850 BST on Monday.

The incident, near Abington Services, Biggar, left the 36-year-old with "life threatening injuries".

The 45-year-old driver of the other lorry did not need medical attention.
