Cyclist, 21, badly injured by car in Paisley

A 21-year-old cyclist has been seriously injured after his bike was struck by a car in Renfrewshire.

The man was going along Brediland Road, Paisley, outside St Paul's Primary School, when a Toyota Avensis hit his bike at about 19:50 on Wednesday.

The cyclist received serious head, neck and internal injuries and remains in a serious but stable condition at the town's Royal Alexandra Hospital.

The driver of the car was uninjured. Police have appealed for witnesses.
