Strict controls on paedophile rapist Jamie France
A paedophile who raped a six-year-old girl in North Ayrshire when he was 15 has been placed under strict controls to prevent him reoffending.
Strathclyde Police has been granted a sexual offences prevention order against 19-year-old Jamie France.
This places him under extended parole conditions and supervision until 2017.
Police were granted the order at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court, claiming it was "necessary to protect the public, and particularly female children".
The order bans France from leaving the UK, contacting three named juveniles or anybody under 17, and entering parks, play or leisure areas, schools and nurseries without permission from his supervising officers.
He is also banned from associating with sex offenders and entering Stevenston, where the rape took place.
France must also stay on 07:00-19:00 curfew, inform his supervisor of any new relationship and allow police or support workers to examine any equipment capable of accessing the internet.
The paedophile, whose address was not revealed in court, is understood to be living in Ayrshire under the care of two support workers.
Duncan Campbell, legal spokesman for Strathclyde Police, said: "Orders like this are sought to enhance public protection and to enable police officers to enforce certain elements of a risk plan.
"Strathclyde Police works closely with partner agencies in such cases, and that partnership has been a key element in this instance."
In December 2007, France was given an 11-year extended sentence at the High Court in Edinburgh after admitting raping the six-year-old girl.
He had pulled her from a swing, dragged her over a fence and taken her to woods after spying on her for three weeks.
Before his conviction, France was accused of several other alleged assaults on young people.
He was first detained when he was just 13, following allegations that he abused a girl of the same age on a school trip.
Months later the parents of an eight-year-old girl complained that he had pulled down her trousers and pants while playing in her bedroom.
In 2007, France was also accused of lewd and libidinous behaviour after allegedly telling a five-year-old boy to strip and taking mobile phone pictures.
