Death of man in Rutherglen treated as 'unexplained'

Police have said they are treating the death of a man in Rutherglen in South Lanarkshire as unexplained.

Gary Lawson, 48, was found dead at his home in Chapel Street in the town on Thursday.

Detectives said he was last seen at his home address on Monday.

A post mortem has been carried out and police have appealed for people who knew Mr Lawson to come forward to help them build a picture of his lifestyle and recent movements.

Det Insp Laura McLuckie of Rutherglen CID said: "I would appeal for anyone who knows Gary or has seen him between 22 and 25 August to come forward, and to help us establish what he was doing between those times and what happened to him."
