Lynda Park admits causing Andrew McLaughlin's death

A woman is facing a prison sentence for causing the death of a passenger in a three-car crash in East Ayrshire.

Lynda Park, 49, from Wishaw in North Lanarkshire, crossed into the path of oncoming traffic and hit two other cars on the A71 at Newmilns in June.

Her passenger and neighbour, Andrew McLaughlin, 52, was fatally injured and died three weeks later.

Park admitted driving without due care and attention, causing Mr McLaughlin's death and injuring two other motorists.

At Kilmarnock Sheriff Court, Park's bail was continued and she was banned from driving pending sentencing next month.
