Two in court over Jon Wilson murder incident

A second person has appeared in court following the murder of 13-year-old Jon Wilson in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire.

Mark Hamilton, 21, faces charges of assault and robbery in connection with an incident in the town's Queen's Drive on 4 September.

He appeared in private at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court with co-accused Jordan McCreadie, 16, who is accused of murdering Jon during the incident.

Both made no plea or declaration and were remanded in custody.

Seriously injured

Mr Hamilton, from Kilmarnock, and Mr McCreadie, from Irvine, are both charged with robbery and with assault to injury with intent to rob.

Mr McCreadie is also accused of the murder of Jon Wilson and of breaching bail conditions.

John Wilson, from Gateside Place, Kilmarnock, was seriously injured following the incident in Queen's Drive in the early hours of 4 September.

He was taken to the town's Crosshouse Hospital where he died the next day.
