Two men injured in murder bid attack in Possilpark

A man has been left with life-threatening injuries and another was seriously hurt in an attack in Possilpark in Glasgow.

It is thought the men, aged 30 and 27, were stabbed near Balglass Street between 01:40 and 01:50.

The 30-year-old suffered life-threatening chest injuries and the 27-year-old has arm and face injuries.

The men had been in the Brothers Bar on Saracen Street earlier in the evening. Police appealed for witnesses.

Detectives are treating the attack on the 30-year-old as attempted murder.

Both men were taken to Stobhill Hospital by a friend, and were then taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Det Sgt Alec Cameron, of Strathclyde Police, said: "Inquiries are at a very early stage, and so far we have been unable to speak to the victims due to their serious injuries.

"We do know that the men were within the Brothers Bar public house on Saracen Street earlier in the evening, and it is possible that the person or persons responsible were also there.

"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Saracen Street/Balglass Street at the time of the incident to get in touch with police.
