Man's death near River Clyde 'suspicious' say police

Police are treating the death of a man whose body was found near the River Clyde in Glasgow as "suspicious".

The man's body was discovered on the walkway to the river, near Dalmarnock Bridge at Dalmarnock Road, in the city's east end at about 07:55.

Strathclyde Police said inquiries were at an early stage.

A spokeswoman said a post-mortem examination would be held to establish how the man died but confirmed that the death was being treating as suspicious.

Det Supt John McGovern said: "At the moment we do not know who the man is.

"He is described as white, 25 to 35 years of age, of slim build, and has a tattoo on his left ring finger.

"He was wearing a red or maroon Henley T-shirt and black trainers with sky blue laces."
