Man injured in knife attack outside Possilpark pub

An 18-year-old man has been attacked as he made his way home from a night out with friends in Glasgow.

The teenager was approached by two other men after leaving the Ashfield Bar in Maryhill Road, Possilpark, at about 00:45 on Sunday.

He tripped and fell as he tried to run away. When they caught up they were joined by another men and all three assaulted him with a bladed weapon.

Police described it as an "unprovoked" and "horrible" attack.

The victim managed to make his way back to the Ashfield Bar where emergency services were contacted.

He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary and treated for leg and head injuries.

The three suspects are described as white, Scottish, of slim build and aged between 18 and 25.

Det Con Neville Oliver, of Strathclyde Police, said: "From inquiries so far, we know that there was a 30th birthday party taking place in the Ashfield bar on Saturday night and I would appeal to anyone who was at the party or anyone else in the bar to come forward.

"Anyone who was outside having a cigarette would have a clear view of the assault."
