Darryn Canning charged over murder of James Findlay

A 33-year-old man has been charged with murdering James Thompson Findlay in Inverclyde.

The body of Mr Findlay, 33, was found at his home in Maxwell Street, Port Glasgow, on 21 October. He died a few days earlier.

Police said a violent assault had been reported in the area on 18 October but they found no trace of any disturbance.

Darryn David Canning, from Glasgow, made no plea and no declaration when he appeared at Greenock Sheriff Court.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear in court on 3 November.
