Ryan's Food Limited closed over unsatisfactory hygiene

A food factory in Glasgow which produces Italian, Chinese and Indian dishes has been closed due to unsatisfactory hygiene conditions.

Ryan's Food Limited was also found to be manufacturing meat-based meals and selling on a wholesale basis without permission from Glasgow City Council.

Its premises in Sunnylaw Street will remain closed until further notice.

Products sold to shops in Glasgow, East Dunbartonshire, Lanarkshire and Renfrewshire are now being recalled.

The products under the label Aysha's Foods are chicken pakora, vegetable pakora, chicken samosas and vegetable samosas

There is also a Chinese lemon chicken product under the label Ryan's Foods and pizza slices with the label Rico's Foods.

People who have any of these products are advised to return them to the shop where they were purchased for the retailers to dispose of.

Glasgow City Council said the city's sheriff court had granted a hygiene prohibition order confirming its own environmental health officers' emergency closure.
