Police divers are searching a boating pond at an East Renfrewshire park in the hunt for a missing man.

Charles Walker disappeared from his home in Thornliebank last week.

Strathclyde Police said they were searching Rouken Glen Park in Giffnock as part of their investigation into the 52-year-old's disappearance.

Mr Walker, known as Chic, was last seen on Monday at 19:00, walking in the Main Street, Thornliebank, near to its junction with Kennishead Road.

He is described as 6ft 1in tall, of stocky build and with short grey hair.

Mr Walker was reported missing about the time that a neighbour of his, Lynne Small, was found murdered in her home in Addison Grove.

Police have said there was nothing to suggest the two incidents were linked.
