Motorcyclist killed in Airdrie in lorry crash is named

A 30-year-old motorcyclist who died in a crash with a lorry in North Lanarkshire has been named by police.

Derek McGarry, of Macleod Crescent, Airdrie, was killed in a collision on the town's Carlisle Road at about 07:00 on Thursday.

Mr McGarry died at the scene of the crash.

The 63-year-old lorry driver was uninjured in the collision, which is being investigated by Strathclyde Police.
