Two men arrested over Ashgill car death

Police investigating the death of a 76-year-old man who was struck by his own vehicle have arrested two men.

The men, aged 26 and 32, are in police custody. A report is being sent to the procurator fiscal.

James Simpson died on 29 November outside his home in Ashgill near Larkhall.

His Land Rover Discovery was later recovered five miles away in Crossford. Police staged a reconstruction of the incident on Tuesday evening.
