Further arrest over death of James Simpson in Ashgill
Police investigating the death of a pensioner hit by his own car outside his home in South Lanarkshire have made another arrest.
James Simpson, 76, died after being struck by the Land Rover Discovery during a car theft in Ashgill on 29 November.
A 23-year-old man has been detained in connection with his death.
Another man Christopher Grenfell, 25, appeared in court last week charged with murder.
A third man was also arrested last week over Mr Simpson's death but was released pending further inquiries.
The 23-year-old is expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
