Patrick Porter, 58, killed by tipper truck in Govanhill

A 58-year-old man has died after being struck by a tipper truck in the south side of Glasgow.

Patrick Porter was hit by the DAF lorry as he crossed Hollybrook Street, Govanhill, at about 18:00 on Sunday.

Mr Porter, who lived in nearby Hickman Street, died at the scene. The lorry driver was not injured.

Strathclyde Police appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them. A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
